ERC and the Future of European Research Funding: Opportunities and Strategy
MIA-Portugal and the University of Coimbra, in collaboration with the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) and the ERC-Portugal Programme, are organising an event dedicated to European research funding, with a particular focus on the European Research Council (ERC) and the future funding landscape in Europe.
This event aims to strengthen the capacity of UC researchers to access excellence funding, provide practical insights into ERC applications, and promote a strategic reflection on future funding opportunities in the context of ongoing developments at European and national levels.

Programme overview
Session 1 (morning, in English)
ERC and ERC-Portugal: opportunities and support mechanisms
This session will provide an overview of ERC funding opportunities and national/institutional support mechanisms, followed by a panel discussion with ERC evaluators, grantees and FCT representatives, focusing on what makes a competitive proposal and how to successfully approach an ERC application.
Session 2 (afternoon, in English)
The future of European funding: challenges and strategies
This strategic session will bring together representatives from FCT and the University of Coimbra to discuss the evolving European funding landscape, including future Framework Programme developments, and reflect on how institutions and researchers can best position themselves.
